Change of plans

Original birthday plan: Benjamin invites a few friends to the park for a game of kickball, maybe a water balloon toss, playing on the playground, running around just because there's open space, some cake and ice cream and birthday festivities (gifts).

Reality: The forecast called for scattered thunderstorms and running around in the field of grass would surely stir up clouds of mosquitos. Ick.


So, John and I had to come up with Plan B. I suggested, "Isn't there a game that we could play with the boys here at home?" John shot me the, "Have you gone mad?" look. We decided that having 10 boys in our house would be out of the question. So, we called up the bowling alley and reserved two lanes and a room for cake and presents (and a little bit of running around since it was a big room).
